I like this more to monitor students than to get news. I am already overwhelmed by email every day - this could become a nuisance. I need to learn more.
It looked like you might be able to filter the content. So on NPR you could filter to receive only education-related information, or stories about Minnesota or California.
But now it is time to move on to the next thing.

Thing 2
I have read a few of the articles recommended for this section, but after about six hours, I had to quit and move on. Ann said it would only take 15 minutes per thing!
The potential for Web 2.0 is tremendous and I want to be able to offer ideas to my staff - and then reality sets in and I find google images blocked, "web communication" blocked, blogspot blocked!
Good news came in an email on Thursday - two blog sites for education and the school filter does not block them. Hurrah! This is where I will begin.
Anyone having luck getting Web 2.0 sites unblocked?

Doing the second blog is much easier than the first one. This fall I was asked to create a private blog for the BEST Robotics team and it needed to be up in two days. My learning went into warp speed and blogger.com came to the rescue. The students and engineers who used the blog found it useful in their robot construction collaboration. I felt so techy!

Welcome! Comment on what you see here. I am most interested in learning from others.
